IUL Policy Design
Review death benefit options, funding levels, crediting strategies, charges, and policy structure to determine whether the design supports your stated financial objectives.
Explore whether Indexed Universal Life insurance fits your tax diversification, retirement, protection, liquidity, or legacy goals. Black Swan Insurance Group helps financially responsible professionals, executives, families, and business owners evaluate policy design, sustainable funding, MEC limits, illustrated versus guaranteed values, and reasonable alternatives before making a long-term decision.

Objective IUL guidance covering policy design, tax diversification, retirement planning, comparisons, and sustainable funding considerations.
Review death benefit options, funding levels, crediting strategies, charges, and policy structure to determine whether the design supports your stated financial objectives.
Evaluate whether IUL may complement qualified retirement accounts, Roth accounts, taxable investments, and other assets as part of a broader tax-diversification strategy.
Consider IUL alongside other retirement-income resources, focusing on sustainable funding, policy strength, illustrated versus guaranteed values, and long-term household fit.
Explore whether IUL may provide flexibility, permanent protection, and cash-value access for education planning while considering policy charges and long-term funding responsibilities.
Compare IUL with whole life, term, variable, and guaranteed universal life insurance, plus annuities, retirement accounts, brokerage investing, and other alternatives.
Assess whether premiums can be maintained responsibly while considering MEC limits, liquidity needs, policy charges, crediting terms, and the risk of policy lapse.
Indexed universal life is permanent life insurance first, and a tax-diversification tool third. Any potential tax-advantaged access through withdrawals and policy loans depends on the contract staying in force, staying outside MEC status, and being properly structured, funded and managed. We model the policy against a Roth conversion, a taxable brokerage account, the 401(k) and term insurance, and we quantify what the charges cost against the tax treatment. Not everyone should buy an IUL. Illustrations are models, not guarantees: the non-guaranteed column reflects current assumptions the carrier can change.

High earners who mapped every dollar by tax treatment first and discovered the gap was smaller, or larger, than the pitch they had been given.
Tax-deferred is not tax-free. We map what you already hold before suggesting anything new. An IUL is life insurance first, and not everyone should buy one.
Recommendations are tailored to your goals, budget, protection needs, financial priorities, and household circumstances.
Understand charges, crediting assumptions, policy loans, MEC limits, and illustrated versus guaranteed values before deciding.
Evaluate IUL alongside retirement accounts, annuities, brokerage investing, term coverage, and other relevant alternatives.
Continued guidance and annual reviews help you monitor funding, policy performance, cash value access, and long-term fit.
Experienced guidance for protection, retirement, and wealth-building decisions.

He went on to build a successful career with several Fortune 500 companies before founding Black Swan Insurance Group to help families and businesses protect themselves from unexpected tragedies and plan for a dignified, comfortable retirement. Under his leadership, the company has grown to serve over 20,000 families and businesses across Ohio, earning an A+ Better Business Bureau rating and hundreds of five-star Google reviews. Robert is deeply committed to transparency, integrity, and personalized guidance, ensuring every client receives tailored insurance and financial strategies designed around their unique needs and long-term goals.
Proper IUL structure begins with the policy’s financial job: permanent protection, tax diversification, retirement-income support, liquidity, legacy planning, or another defined objective. Review death benefit options, funding levels, MEC limits, underwriting, charges, crediting strategies, and conservative assumptions. Compare illustrated and guaranteed values, test what happens if funding changes, and confirm the policy can be maintained without undermining other financial priorities.
Questions on bucket sequencing, Roth conversion versus policy funding, what the charges cost against the tax benefit, and when a brokerage account wins. If IUL does not fit, we will tell you that too.
