IUL Policy Design
Evaluate death benefit options, funding levels, underwriting considerations, crediting terms, policy charges, and sustainable funding requirements before selecting an IUL structure.
Explore whether a split-dollar IUL arrangement can support business protection, executive benefits, succession planning, and long-term financial goals. Black Swan Insurance Group helps business owners evaluate policy design, funding responsibilities, tax considerations, and alternatives with clear guidance. Because IUL performance depends on underwriting, charges, crediting terms, and keeping the policy in force, informed design matters.

Personalized IUL planning for business protection, executive benefits, liquidity, retirement considerations, and long-term financial objectives.
Evaluate death benefit options, funding levels, underwriting considerations, crediting terms, policy charges, and sustainable funding requirements before selecting an IUL structure.
Assess how permanent life insurance may fit alongside business assets, retirement accounts, liquidity needs, succession considerations, and protection objectives for owners and their families.
Explore whether a split-dollar arrangement may support selected executive or key-person planning goals, subject to appropriate legal, tax, insurance, and business review.
Compare IUL with whole life, term life, variable life, guaranteed universal life, retirement accounts, brokerage investing, and other reasonable alternatives.
Review potential cash value access through withdrawals and policy loans while explaining interest, policy strength, death benefit, lapse, surrender, and tax considerations.
Continue reviewing policy performance, funding, crediting assumptions, charges, loan management, and whether the arrangement remains aligned with changing business and personal goals.
A split dollar arrangement built on indexed universal life is permanent life insurance first, wrapped in an agreement between two parties. Any potential tax-advantaged access depends on the policy being properly structured, funded and managed, and on the agreement surviving a change in ownership, cash flow or intent. We model the funding, the imputed income, the exit and the failure cases against an executive bonus plan, a nonqualified deferred compensation arrangement and term insurance. Not everyone should buy an IUL. Illustrations are models, not guarantees: the non-guaranteed column reflects current assumptions the carrier can change.

Employers and key executives who tested the rollout and the exit, priced the imputed income, and compared the arrangement against a straightforward bonus plan with term insurance.
Split dollar arrangements fail at the exit, not the entry. We model the unwind before the agreement is signed. An IUL is life insurance first, and not everyone should buy one.
Policies and recommendations are tailored to each owner’s needs, goals, budget, business context, and protection priorities.
Understand policy charges, crediting assumptions, loans, funding responsibilities, risks, and alternatives before making a decision.
Annual reviews help business owners revisit funding, policy performance, cash value access, and changing long-term objectives.
Compare IUL with other insurance and financial approaches instead of treating one product as the answer for every owner.
Experienced guidance for families, professionals, and business owners.

Split-dollar life insurance is an arrangement in which parties—often a business and an employee, owner, or executive—share specified policy rights, benefits, premiums, or costs. The agreement should define ownership, premium responsibilities, access to policy value, death benefit treatment, and what happens when employment or the arrangement ends. Legal and tax professionals should review the structure because treatment depends on the arrangement and facts.
Questions on loan regime versus economic benefit regime, imputed income, the unwind, and when a simple bonus arrangement plus term insurance is the cleaner answer. If IUL does not fit, we will tell you that too.
